Every time we present there are always things we wish we did things differently – or better. I learn from every mistakes I make. And I’m continuing to make mistakes. You’ve seen my blooper videos, right?
Whatever you wish you did different, after you present – write it down. Get it out of your head and onto paper. Keep a list to ensure you’re always making improvements. This isn’t a call to be hyper-critical. Instead it’s an opportunity to use every experience in front of an audience to positively inform and influence your future presentations. It’s strategy to self-improve so you can do better next time.
And we all make mistakes. I once accidentally rolled two words together and it sounded like I was swearing. I’ve spoken too fast, I’ve spoken too slow, I’ve worn the wrong outfit, I’ve done it all!
But as we all know, a mistake is only a mistake if we don’t learn from it.
Today’s action step is: Learn from every presentation you wish you did better.
